Led by Venerable Shih Zhong-Xin, meetings of the Kuan-Yin Society will include study of the teachings that are related to the Bodhisattva Kuan-Yin through various workshops and Dharma Talks, formal meditation through which we can identify with the Bodhisattva Kuan-Yin and embody the spirit of unconditional compassion she represents, and becoming involved in the community in order to benefit sentient beings. This may take the form of collecting items needed by homeless, volunteering in soup kitchens, animal shelters, etc. All are welcome to attend.
• 11:00 am -12:00 pm : Five Elements Meditation Group (Free) [details]
The 5 Elements system presents a wide variety of meditative practices and exercises that can assist us in our quest to embody Compassion and Wisdom in daily life. The goal of 5 Elements practice is to provide the meditative practitioner with a variety of methods that can be combined or done as stand-alone practices. This flexibility is of great benefit to meditators living in a rapidly-changing, information-oriented world. Meditative activities will be led by Master Ying-Fa, Lay Leader Brian Robinson and other qualified teachers/practitioners from the CloudWater Sangha.
