| Description: | In order to promote the practice of Compassion in our contemporary society, CloudWater Zendo is introducing the Kuan-Yin Society. Led by Venerable Shih Zhong-Xin, meetings of the Kuan-Yin Society will include study of the teachings that are related to the Bodhisattva Kuan-Yin through various workshops and Dharma Talks, formal meditation through which we can identify with the Bodhisattva Kuan-Yin and embody the spirit of unconditional compassion she represents, and becoming involved in the community in order to benefit sentient beings. This may take the form of collecting items needed by homeless, volunteering in soup kitchens, animal shelters, etc.
Meetings of the Kuan-Yin Society are held on the third Sunday of each month at 10:00 a.m. following morning meditation.
