Ask a Monk

Shih Ying-FaThe historical Buddha Shakyamuni is said to have "turned the Wheel of Dharma" when he decided to share his Compassion and Wisdom with all beings so as to enable them to end their suffering. The traditional way of requesting a Ch'an or Buddhist teacher to answer one's questions about teachings or practice is known as Turning the Wheel. All questions, whether general or specific in nature, will be given respectful consideration as time permits.

Our Ask a Monk feature has yielded a number of interesting questions for Ven. Shih Ying-Fa on matters of practice and teaching. As more of these questions come in we will continue to post them, along with Sífu's answers, in the Public Cases section. Out of respect for the questioners, no first or last names or cities of origin will be posted to maintain privacy. If you have a question for Venerable Ying-Fa, please use the form below.

Please be sure to include your email address in the box provided to ensure that you will receive a response. Thank you.
